At the interface of biology and nanoscience/nanotechnology, faculty research in this domain encompasses new biomaterials, micro- and nanotechnology-based particles, implants, sensors and platforms, and multi-scale modeling to enhance understanding of various diseases such as Sickle Cell, tuberculosis, lupus, retinitis pigmentosa, and cancer.
